Joyce Good Henderson

Joyce Good HendersonAfter graduating from Watterson, I attended Mt Carmel School of Nursing, then served in the Army Nurse Corps for 2 years (Viet Nam era), got married, adopted a Vietnamese orphan, had 4 more kids, got a Bachelor’s degree from Eastern KYU in History, a divorce, and eventually moved to Florida. I remarried almost twenty years ago to an Ohioan I met here in Florida. He is an engineer in the space industry. That pretty much sums up about 50 years.

I have been a nurse for forty-seven years, the first twenty-two years working in the Operating Room and the last twenty + in homecare, then I added certification as a Faith Community Nurse. I retired from nursing 3 years ago and bought a business that offers editing assistance for college and grad school application essays, and resumes. (www.EssayLady.com)

I am also a freelance writer and writing coach, (www.joycegoodhenderson.com) with more than 500 articles in magazines and professional journals, and online. I’ve published eight nonfiction books, and seven novels. You can find me online and at Amazon.com as Joyce Good Henderson.

My kids, and one inherited stepdaughter are all adults. One son lives in Hilliard, OH where he is the manager of the bakery at Meier’s in Hilliard and a personal trainer. The other son, with wife and seven kids live outside Charlotte, NC. Two daughters live in Tampa and two daughters are in Orlando. All together, we have 15 grandchildren, ranging from 1 to almost 16 years.

My husband Phil and I are active in our church and lead medical mission teams to Ecuador every year,
# 17 this fall. We also enjoy year-round, raised-bed gardening, (thanks to FL weather) and travel.
